Biographic information about the German graphic designer Oliver Klimpel

Oliver Klimpel is designer and runs the studio Büro International London. In 2008 he was appointed Professor for System-Design at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig. In his design practice he works in a wide range of formats, amongst them publications, visual identities, architecture related designs and exhibition designs, i.e. Edward Hopper, Tate Modern, 2004; August Strindberg, Tate Modern, 2005, (with Silke Klinnert); William Blake, Tate Britain, 2007 (with Silke Klinnert and Axel Feldmann). Besides, Klimpel writes frequently about visual culture and has co-edited Applied Autonomy, a reader of critical graphic design (with Gerrit Gohlke and Svend Wennick), Künsterhaus Bethanien Berlin, 2004.
