Biographic information about the Slovenian artist Polona Tratnik

Polona Tratnik (born 1976, lives in Ljubljana, Slovenia) is a representative of bioart and biotheory. Her artistic or cultural work intertwines with science, especially biotechnology. She graduated from the University of Primorska, Faculty of Humanities, with a doctorate in philosophy and theory of visual culture (entitled “Understanding The End of Art – from Hegel to Danto”, 2007). She is Assistant Professor for Philosophy of Culture at the University of Primorska, Koper, Slovenia.
