Biographic information about the Austrian architect Christian Teckert

Christian Teckert was born in 1967 and lives in Vienna. He produces architectural projects, exhibitions, installations, lectures and texts in the field of architecture, urbanism and spatial theory. Since 2006 he is Professor for Spatial Strategies at the Muthesius University of Arts in Kiel/Germany; since 2005 he is regular lecturer at the Academy of fine Arts Vienna. Christian Teckert is a former board member of the OEGFA (Austrian Society for Architecture) and the SECESSION Vienna. In 2001 he established as-if berlinwien together with Paul Grundei and Stephanie Kaindl, producing projects like the GFZK2, an exhibition building for the Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst in Leipzig and publications like "Negotiating Spaces“ (2010) published together with Barbara Steiner by Jovis, Berlin. In 1999 he established the Office for Cognitive Urbanism together with Andreas Spiegl, producing exhibitions like Studiocity (Vienna, Wolfsburg,1999), Screenclimbing (Hamburg, 2000), ManifeSTATION (Rovereto, 2008) and publications like ”Prospekt” (2003) and "Last Minute" (2006), both published by Verlag Walther König, Cologne.
